COVID-19 Policies and Updates

8/1/21: Staying Safer during the Surge

Our priority is to work toward the growth and wellbeing of

our community, so we are taking several steps to ensure that everyone attending our studio is safe and healthy, even as numbers of COVID infections begin to rise in our state.

Adding 4 new HEPA air purifiers. By August 9th, 2021, we plan to add 4 new air purifier units, bringing us to a total of (5) for our studio space. We estimate based on the square footage and the specifications of our units that we should be cycling all the air through once every 12 minutes, which should keep contaminants and aerosols from accumulating if someone is shedding the virus.

Socially distancing and cleaning. By August 15th, 2021, we will be returning to social distancing for people who do not already spend long periods of time with one another (in a family unit or "pod" of friends or roommates) and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces. See below for other COVID accommodations and policies.

Requiring masks for unvaccinated attendees. By August 15th, 2021 we will require all attendees at Rooted Studio to either be vaccinated (and provide us with a visual record of your vaccination) or be wearing a mask to attend class in our physical space, 120 w. Main.

Establishing vaccination status of our attendees. If you attend our physical space, we are asking that you give us verification that you are vaccinated so we can assure other students that everyone is either vaccinated or wearing a mask - if not both. Needless to say, we will keep this information private for our studio use only. Here are the ways you can verify your vaccination status with us:

  • Show Tina or Tom your vaccination card (or a

    photocopy of it) in person

  • Send a picture of your vaccination card to us at

    rootedstudiowi@gmail.com

  • Send a picture of your vaccination card as a

personal message to our Facebook messenger

  • Text us your vaccination card privately at

    715-972-0131 (Tom) or 815-291-8104 (Tina)

To clarify, by August 15th, 2021, if we have no record of your being vaccinated, you will need to wear a mask to physically attend our classes. This doesn’t apply to Zoom classes.

With the precautions that we take as a community, we think

we can stay open, keep providing yoga instruction, and keep ourselves healthy in body, mind, and spirit. If we agree to work together as a community, we believe we can all remain strong, wise, and tranquil, no matter what challenges lie ahead!

Please let us know at rootedstudiowi@gmail.com if you have

any questions or concerns. Our other studio policies and accomodations related to COVID-19 are listed below:

VIRTUAL & YOUTUBE CLASS DISCLAIMER

Exercise is safe for most people. However, as with all exercise programs, you need to use common sense. We recommend you see a doctor before beginning any physical exertion and to cease activity if you feel pain, nausea or experience shortness of breath, lightheadedness or a tingling sensation in your extremities. Please make sure your exercise space is clear and that there are no objects in your way. A good rule of thumb is to clear a space that allows you to walk four steps back and forth and side to side. By participating in this activity, you are participating at your own risk and Rooted Studio shall not be responsible in the event of injury.

In-Person/Group Classes & Private Lessons

Remember that we offer private lessons; email us to schedule!

SIGNING UP FOR CLASS

  • You must sign up ahead of time (at least 30 min before class starts). No walk ins, and space is limited.

  • If you do not have a class package, you’ll use a credit card to hold your spot (charged at time of check-in).

  • You may cancel your reservation up to 60 minutes before class starts with no penalty. If you do not, you will be charged for the class.

ENTERING

  • Arrive no more than 5 minutes early for studio classes. Please wait in your car if you are too early.

  • You’ll be asked to sign a COVID-specific waiver, acknowledging that you’re participating at your own risk.

  • If we do not have your vaccination record on file or haven't seen your vaccination record yet, you must wear a mask the entire time you are in the studio. If you are not willing to get vaccinated or wear a mask, please do our classes via Zoom.

  • Please bring as few items into the studio as possible.

  • Avoid congregating in the lobby area before and after class.

PROPS AND PERSONAL EFFECTS

  • You are encouraged to bring your own mat and props. Students who borrow studio props do so at their own risk, and must clean them after each use. Instructors will do their best to teach classes that do not require many props, but it’s good to at least have a set of blocks.

  • We will provide mat markings for placements 6 feet apart, though individual instructors may set up other systems to achieve the same effect (we have a lot of space). Class size is limited to 8 people.

  • Bring as few items to the studio as possible. Do not spend time in the lobby; go straight to the next available mat marker on the floor and set up your space. When class is over, please leave promptly.

STOPPING THE SPREAD

  • Hand sanitizer and cleaning supplies are available at the studio for use.

  • We will sterilize commonly touched surfaces.

  • If you are not feeling well, please be mindful of others and stay home.

  • Be prepared for cancelled classes- if an instructor is not feeling well, they will cancel the class. Make sure to watch your email and/or Facebook for cancellations.
